Engineering development involves the design and build of (usually) a single, initial robot system or sub-system. Where this differs from prototype development is that the design is undertaken with a view to subsequent replication and manufacture.

Typically in this type of work, the client is seeking to have an initial prototype built but to then have the necessary drawings, information and licenses to manufacture further systems.
